Devin is two destinations, not one with a fallback. The web agent at app.devin.ai and the desktop app are separate places to send a prompt, and the tools that offer both offer them as two buttons rather than one link that degrades. This registry follows suit: the web link and the desktop link are listed apart, because choosing between them is a real choice and not an implementation detail.

devin://cascade is Windsurf. Cascade was Windsurf's agent, Cognition bought Windsurf, and Devin Desktop is that client under a new name — the scheme still says so. It is why a button labelled "Open in Windsurf" in a docs site built this year may open Devin Desktop instead: Mintlify still ships the menu entry under id: "windsurf", paints it with the Devin icon, and dispatches devin-desktop.
